It will be interesting to see how they reconcile her New 52 history here. How do you hide out by playing in a band with your old codename?
ReplyDeleteI would have thought this was a whole new continuity for Canary, but then I'm flummoxed by much of the timeline of the New 52, and now the DC You.
Chris
I agree with Chris. Hey, I fought with the JLA but I'm 'undercover' in a band which constantly make news.
ReplyDeleteI did like the invisibility effect. The art is really perfectly suited for the book, a sort of grunge, perfect for the rock scenario.
And I don't mind the living husband because that is a decent hook. But like you I also felt like this was a super quick read.
Nice podcast, but it felt a little short.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha haaaaa. But yeah, we were shortchanged. Have you tweeted Brenden Fletcher or anyone, and asked?
@Martin - I have talked to Brenden Fletcher about it. Unfortunately, it sounds like issue #3 will also be only 16 story pages. Not his doing; something about how DC is packaging the comic.
ReplyDeleteAs for the length of the episode, yeah, I didn't think I would have time to cover any other BC material this month so I cranked out that review. I also forgot to address the listener feedback from the previous episode.
Thanks Ryan. And I was totally kidding about the length of the episode, I'll take what I can get with thanks. Hey, free entertainment!
ReplyDeleteAppreciate the use of "Maria," the last big Blondie hit and a song I routinely get stuck in my head whenever I'm around anyone named Maria, like a girl I lived with for five years and a current co-worker. So basically, I've been stuck with this song for most of the current century on a nigh-daily basis.
